After the fireworks that happened in the first episode, the second episode of Survivor 48 was an explosive one to be hold.
Coming back from tribal council, it was easy to tell from the Vula tribe that Mary was blindsided as she was allied with Stephanie before she got voted out and got left out of the vote. Mary seemed very calm just asking why they voted for Stephanie out while Sai was very aggressive as to why Mary voted for Sai and she said, " I don't trust you." This was just a start of things to come in this episode.
Moving on to the Cava tribe, the tribe seemed to have high morale as they start to weird out to each other with David appearing to have 4 nipples and discuss with Mitch about his speech impediment. Charity also has a weird left foot that is difference in size to her right foot. David starts to target Mitch and Charity as they are on the outside and David sees how dangerous they are. Kyle and David also went searching for the beware advantage and found it in between a tree. Kyle knew that he was going to need help with it so he asked Camila to help him out with it. It was very similar one to the Vula tribe except for the fact that the word that they were trying to solve for was different. the word ended up being ENLIST and she ended up cracking the code for him.
Up next was the Laga tribe with starting to discuss who would sit out the first challenge and Eva threw out Star's name in which she did not feel good about. That made Star feel like she needed to play "a selfish game" and start to look for the idol. She starting looking and ended up finding the be aware advantage that was very similar to the Vula tribes idol but with different symbols. She ended up taking the entire tribe Shahin and Thomas were more conflicted on whether to help her or not because if they lose, they want to vote her off and she isn't able to vote if she doesn't find it. Also, they are trying to think the long game and it could make them more of a target too early.
Following the Laga tribe, we had an advantage island challenge where 1 person would each send a tribe member to the island to potentially win them an advantage. Mitch ended up going for Cava, Thomas for Laga, and Mary for Vula, which Sai was pissed about.
The puzzle was a number scramble where they had to a slide puzzle with 3 different rows and they had to get all the numbers in order before the time was up. If they completed the puzzle they would earn themselves an advantage. If they failed, they would lose their vote at the next tribal council. It definitely took some time for them to figure out especially when they had one row completed with all 3 contestants trying to figure out how they could get the final 2 rows in order. eventually, Mitch and Thomas figure it out in time earning themselves an advantage while Mary failed to complete the puzzle and loses her vote at the next tribal. Thomas ended up getting the block a vote advantage and Mitch ended up getting the Steal a Vote advantage.
Once they reached back to camp, Mitch tells his entire tribe that he solved it and the advantage he got, while Thomas kept it a secret and made up a story that he had a choice to play something and he decided to not do it. While Mary ended up telling her tribe that she lost her vote.
The immunity and reward challenge was one that was surrounded by water along the islands of Fiji. For the challenge, the first person had to go underneath this platform and pull themselves to the 2 buoys and unlick them and swim to the other side while the other 2 pairs had to balance across a balance beam while balancing a buoy using the 2 poles on the platform. Once they swam to the platform, they had to shoot the buoys into the basket. First 2 tribes to finish this challenge win immunity and won themselves fishing gear.

Laga and Vula got off to quick starts while Cava was falling behind but as Jeff would say that you never give up in Survivor because once the pairs started to balance the buoys, there was definitely a learning curve and Laga finished first through that section but Vula struggled with it as Cava ending up passing them as it turned into an absolute disaster. Mitch ending up getting on fire and shotting all 5 buoyes into the basket for the win for Cava. Laga behind Joe and Eva got second behind them. As for Vula, another trip to tribal council and no flint for them. You feel sorry for them at this point.
After the challenge, Cedrek put a lot of the blame on himself for the challenge loss and didn't mind if they vote for him out of frustration. As the sun started to set it became clear that Kevin was trying to make a big move because he is more worried of Sai considering how hard she is playing this early. While the main core group was going for Mary as she is claimed as the lone outsider of the tribe. Blindsiding Sai was an option but Kevin told Cedrek about it who ten told Sai about the plan which meant it could blow up in Kevin's face. There was then talk about Kevin is also a player who is worried abut late in the game as well. Sai was also set on playing her idol that night.
At tribal council, it was more of the same with Mary and Sai going at it about how do you play an honest and deceptive game and why they just can't seem to get along. It was clear that she is the outsider and it didn't matter because she would ineligible to vote anyways. jeff would describe this tribal council as a "therapy session". By a vote of 3-1(that got canceled out by Sai's idol), Kevin is the second person voted out of Survivor 48.
In the preview to the next episode, it seems like we have the iconic blindfold challenge coming up and Laga seeming not as a happy family like they were in this episode.
