An adventurous new season of Survivor is now underway with tons of drama, physical challenges, and alliances being put the test right away in this first episode of Survivor 48.

The format of the season is 18 players split into 3 tribes of 6 with the tribe names being Lagi (Purple),Civa (Orange), and Vula(Green) with the names being represented by the Sun, moon, and Sky.
First Challenge
The first challenge was crucial as you want to start off your journey on the right foot. The winning tribe got camp supplies which included flint, a pot, and a machete. Lagi tribe ended up dominating from start to finish with Joe landing the sandbags on top of their tiny platforms being a big reason to their success.
The losing tribes had to send 1 member of their tribe to a separate island to have a second opportunity to earn the camp supplies. Vula tribe decided to send Kevin because he wanted to prove to himself that he wasn't the weak link even with a shoulder injury that he had suffered in the first challenge when he was underneath the cargo net. Civa ended up sending Kyle to face him with confidence that it would be a sure win for them.
The challenge ended up being a race across the island trying to collect their supplies where they had to use a rope to guide them towards their supplies. Kevin took the lead early by thinking outside the box for finding the key needed for the lock to the pot in a cocunut. It was a close race up until Kyle shattered his hopes of winning by breaking the glass that he needed to put water into retrive the flint as part of the camp supplies which meant that Kevin got a much needed win for his morale and the Vula tribe.
Camp Life
While they were away competing, all 3 tribes at their beaches were tasked to set up their shelter. this was a crucial point on building alliances and a final 2 was formed between joe and Eva. it got even more real when Eva openly shared that she had autism on Day 1 to him and Joe treated as if it is a father figure who has to take care of his daughter. The tribe was looking to form a 4 person alliance with joe, Eva, Thomas, and Shauhin. That left Bianca and Star on the outside so that if they did lose they would choose one of the 2 of them to vote for.
Civa ended up getting a little "distracted" from building their shelter and their importance was more of forming connections. When they ended up seeing symbols on certain rocks. That symbolized a rock and octopus on another one of the rocks. David also on one of the trees covered with string found the letter "S" which which he said "This has to mean something".
Vula tribe similarly to the to the Lagi tribe, formed a 4 person alliance with Justin, Kevin, Cederik, and "Sai". This left Stephanie and Mary on the outs. This alliance got even stronger when Sai found the Beware advantage and she had to solve a cryptogram, which she isn't good at it. She needed to solve it as soon as possible because she ain't vote until she solves it. Sai ended up finding the idol with the assistance of Cederik, getting her vote restored and a massive advantage. The real question is whether it will make her a threat due to everyone knowing about it?
Immunity Challenge/Aftermath
Onto the immunity challenge... where it was once again a physical challenge, which including transferring puzzle pieces inside of chests and making the people's wall to get themselves on top of a platform. Once they reached the top of the platform, inside of the chests were pieces for the classic Survivor 48 logo puzzle. Lagi continued their dominance finishing first in the challenge comfortably while Civa and Vula ended up being in a tight battle but Vula couldn't come all the way back from behind. Vula had to go to tribal council.
Stephanie ended up volunteering for doing the puzzles and failed and it was clearly heavily weighted when they got back to camp. She was also in the minority of tribe with Mary. Sai clearly seemed to put all the blame on Stephanie for the loss which meant that her odds of staying were pretty slim. At Tribal Council, she tried stating that everybody plays their game differently and communicate differently but her points were not taking the part. She tried to pull Kevin over but eventually the inevitable happened with a 4-1 vote with Stephanie going home 1st after her shot in the dark attempt failed.
Will this be be a mistake or end being the right move? Tune in next week for Survivor 48 Episode 2 Recap...
